About
*Please note: unfortunately I am not currently accepting new therapy clients/referrals, or operating a therapy waitlist, as my books are full (please click here for names of other affirming practitioners). However, I have got occasional availability for WPATH assessments, and I am also available for professional supervision/training. Please email me on hello@lgpsychology.net if seeking a WPATH assessment or supervision / training. Supervision can also be booked online via this link. Thank you :)
About me: Hi, I’m Lumen (they/them), a clinical psychologist & board-approved supervisor in Naarm (Melbourne).
I see clients via Telehealth, meaning sessions are accessible from any location. I currently work with folks aged 18yrs+ regarding a range of experiences surrounding identity, neurotype, life transitions, and connection with self, body, others, and place in the world.
I recognise that psychology, psychiatry, and medicine have a long – and ongoing – history of pathologising and harming marginalised folk, and am committed to working in ways that resist and redress these harms. I’m also queer, trans, multiply neurodivergent, and chronically ill person myself, and aspire to provide a safe space for all identities, genders, neurotypes, and bodies.

They have orange hair in a short shaggy mullet, orange and yellow eyeliner, a septum piercing, and tattoos of native plants and animals on their arms and legs, and they are smiling / mid-laughing. They are wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt with metal rings sewn into the collar of it (a very DIY job), and a chain necklace from a mutual aid market, and are holding a trans flag-coloured pompom. Behind them is is a pink bookshelf, with multiple colourful books and trinkets on it, and a pride flag above it.
Therapy approach: My therapeutic style is patient, collaborative, warm, and person-centred, with good humour (/being a bit silly when that’s the vibe) along the way. Accessibility, safety, stimming, and identity unmasking in the ways that feel aligned and affirming for you are welcome; I will always endeavour to provide a space where your needs, comfort, and safety are supported.
I take a holistic approach to support folks to understand their emotions, thoughts, experiences, values, strengths, and needs, and relationships; build skills for and navigate challenges they are facing (while recognising sociopolitical, capitalistic, and systemic impacts); develop greater self-acceptance and insight; move towards their goals; or just talk things out.
To do this, I draws upon therapies including Affirmative Person-Centred, Counselling, Narrative, and Values-Based approaches. I work from an intersectional, anti-oppressive, de-pathologising, identity-affirming, trauma-informed, anti-fascist, and anti-diet framework, and tailor therapy to each person I see. If this sounds like what you’re after, feel welcome to get in touch - I look forward to hearing from you!

Their hair is medium brown, in a shaggy mullet cut with a fringe. They have pink eyeliner, a silver septum piercing, a black choker necklace, and black & pink nailpolish, and are smiling while doing the peace sign, because they don’t really know how else to pose in selfies.
