Shared Cloud Folder for Accessible Resource Sharing - Consent Form Template

A$25.00

What is this resource?

Keeping track of therapy resources can be tricky, especially for folks who are neurodivergent, chronically ill, disabled, have limited capacity, and/or are navigating lots at once. Wouldn’t it be great if resources could all be uploaded and stored in the one place, in a streamlined, accessible way? Well, by setting up shared cloud-based folders, they can (as long as you gather informed consent first)!

This resource provides a clear, comprehensive, and ethically-compliant consent form template, for using shared cloud-based folders (e.g. Go*gle Drive, Pr*ton Drive) to provide therapy resources to clients. Shared resource folders can support resource accessibility in a number of ways, such as:

  • Making it easier for clients to locate, access, and refer to therapy resources between sessions

  • Minimising the cognitive load associated with managing therapy-related resources (such as organisation, recall, follow-up, or monitoring emails)

  • Supporting augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) use, as (provided they’re in the right format) digitally-shared resources can be AAC-compatible

  • Reducing admin load, as therapists will be able to share resources electronically without needing to write/send emails (or document said emails) every time a resource is shared

The template covers key considerations including privacy and confidentiality, use of third-party platforms, communication boundaries, access and security responsibilities, potential risks and benefits, duration of access, and volitional consent, and can be adapted for practitioners across various professions.

It also contains sections that recognise and affirm clients’ diverse capacity and accessibility needs, and clarify that the shared resource folder is an optional support (not a compliance tool!).
