Website Privacy Policy Template
About this resource
Did you know that if your website gathers any individual’s contact details or other data, you need a privacy policy? A lot of folks aren’t aware of this (and we’re rarely, if ever, taught how to write such policies)… but don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!
This resource provides a fully customisable Website Privacy Policy template. It is for practitioners who provide psychological, supervisory, consultancy, and/or professional development services, and who use their website, online enquiry/contact form, mailing list, and/or online shop to gather information from, or connect with, customers and/or clients.
The policy includes editable placeholders for your business name, URL, website host, mailing list platform, practice software, and email. It covers:
What information your website may collect
How and why you use collected information
Mailing list management and unsubscribe options
A clear age requirement stating the website is not intended for under specific ages
How people can access and update their information
Data retention for enquiries and for clients and/or customers
Data security and reasonable protective measures
Your website host, analytics, and font services (including possible storage on international servers)
Client/customer rights and complaints, including OAIC details
How you handle consent and how people can contact you with questions
What’s included?
This resource includes:
A full, editable copy of the Website Privacy Policy template (Word Doc and PDF versions), which can be customised and adapted to suit your context
An example completed version of the template (PDF version)
